New contents - 27/07/2025 Fortune of the Etruscans: the new digital journey through ancient and contemporary Etruria is now online

1985 was the Year of the Etruscans: the Region of Tuscany conceived and organized an important project that became a model, showcasing the Etruscan cultural heritage in an innovative and visionary way. Forty years after the Etruscans Project, in 2025 a new season of initiatives, exhibitions, events, and conferences dedicated to ancient Etruria will begin, reviving the spirit and cultural intentions that made the Etruscans the protagonists of an unforgettable year.

The portal is thus enriched with a new narrative path, Fortune of the Etruscans, a journey following the traces of the Etruscan people and their relationship with contemporary culture. Even centuries later, the material, artistic, and religious expressions of Etruscan civilization have continued to influence and inspire a wide range of disciplines, from art to design, from fashion to photography, from literature to comics.

This narrative path, along with the other six already available on the portal archeologia.toscana.it, is conceived as a kind of Grand Tour 2.0 through Tuscan Etruria, offering a variety of digital content that serves as both a prelude and a companion to an in-person exploration of the vast Etruscan heritage in Tuscany — preserved in museums, witnessed by monuments, and visible in today’s landscapes.
